The Thinker

I was walking down the street just the other day / I saw these …” wait … that’s the wrong quote for this post. But it’s true. I was taking a walk some day when I saw this man on a bank with a book and a pencil in his hands. I asked him kindly if I could take a photo of him. He agreed and here is the photograph. Well, as I usually do, I like to talk a little to my subjects, if it’s possible. So I asked him what he was doing and he answered “I’m thinking.“. I decided not to ask him what he was thinking about, because that’s the most stupid question someone can ask, because thinking is the only privilege someone has and nobody will answer honestly. Who knows what he was thinking … I don’t … but probably something like “What does this weirdo want from me ?”

me: "What are you doing ?" The Thinker: "I think."

Shot on a car trip with Sever in the surroundings of Sighisoara.

The old woman was sitting on a bank in front of her house in the village Stejareni and almost ignored us when we asked if she allows us to photograph her.

The old man was mowing on a field near Danes. You can see on Sever’s blog the man’s first reaction when he saw us coming towards him. My shot is made just after we talked to him and he was happy to be photographed.
